Kelowna-based, Web developer Acro Media has been declared a finalist for this year's Business Excellence Award in the 21-40 employee category. The Business Excellence Awards recognize superior business achievement in the community, as defined by company growth and development, customer and community service and employee relations. Award co-sponsors include the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, local law firm Petraroia Langford LLP and the Business Development Bank of Canada. In the opinion of Chamber CEO Weldon LeBlanc, the finalists and their companies demonstrate "innovation and tenacity" that inspires. Dominic Petraroia of Petraroia Langford adds, "Each of the finalists represents a unique accomplishment that has helped to strengthen the local economy and enrich our community." As part of the judging process, a panel of evaluators visit each finalist's premises during work hours. Acro Media had the pleasure of being interviewed by James Paterson (Lawyer/Partner, Pushor Mitchell LLP), Dicky Dack (Operations Manager, Kelowna Chamber of Commerce) and David Cram (Associate Professor, Faculty of Business, Okanagan College). SW Audio & Video (a 2006 'Business Excellence Award' winner) shot a brief video documentary at Acro Media, which will be played at the awards night. Winners of each of the seven categories will be declared at the 20th Annual Business Excellence Awards on October 15th. The awards are a popular part of the annual Small Business WeekŪ activities, held October 14-20, 2007. Acro Media is BC's second largest interactive Web developer offering software and ecommerce solutions, Web site design and hosting, Internet marketing, corporate branding and a great place to work.
