Sold! RE/MAX Upgrades Their Online Real Estate
We're pleased to announce our winning the contract for the redesign of RE/MAX Western Canada's Web site. Slated for launch this summer, the new site is destined to delight prospective home buyers, realtors and RE/MAX employees from Victoria to Manitoba. First-time purchasers will especially welcome market news, video tutorials, MLS listings, buyers' checklist and a mortgage calculator. TD Canada Trust will supply up-to-date financials.

Thanks to a state-of-the-art, Drupal-based content management system, RE/MAX admin can keep site content up-to-the-minute themselves, with ease. (For more Drupal info, see UPGRADE YOUR WEB KNOWLEDGE, below.)

SUPERB SCRAPPING SITE CITED
We are humbly proud to announce that the Acro Media-designed, online community-building, scrapbooking site twopeasinabucket has just been declared an Official Honoree of the 12th Annual Webby Awards, the Internet's Oscars. The distinction recognizes work that exhibits remarkable achievement and scores in the top 15%. This year, nearly 10,000 entries were received from over 60 countries.

ON THE ECOMMERCE FRONT
  • Roadrash Enterprises—dealers of motorcycle paraphernalia including patches, pins, decals and hats—are getting an ecomm solution that will let them cut back on their on-the-road sales work, and "hog" more time for themselves.
  • My Sports DVDs stocks a humungous selection of sports movies, docs, instructional vids, highlight reels, etc. If you're looking to score sports media, you'll likely get lucky at mysportsdvds.com
  • Minette's Candies—providers of specialty candies and chocolates—have bitten off on a yummy solution: our winning ecommerce platform, implemented by a local New Jersey developer.

Supermarketing
Acro Media's Business Developers Jeff Baerg (West) and Judy Baker-Campbell (East) joined Marketing Director Duane Bentley at the World Trade Group's Marketing Summit in South Carolina. The team pitched Acro Media's expertise to potential clients including John Deere, Rogers Sportsnet, Canadian Feed the Children and others. Duane presented an insightful overview of Internet marketing history and tactics to a rapt assemblage of 150 C-level execs.

No surprise that we, interactive developers, were at a summit designed to help businesses leverage the most effective marketing strategies in existence today. While our team was in the neighbourhood, they took the opportunity to visit key clients in Florida and South Carolina, and eat lots of citrus fruit.

Hard Skills in the Software World
Remember Drupal, the oddly-named software enabling non-techies to organize, publish and manage Web site content? That open source code so fondly used by NASA, IBM, NATO and 'Popular Science'?

Our software 'top guns' Shane Spraggs and Gene Bernier recently joined 850-plus fellow developers at Drupalcon Boston, where they studied, networked, compared pocket protectors and shared Acro Media's tried-and-true methodology for creating client satisfaction. Their meaty seminar, 'Drupal Client Delight: A Guide to Setting, Managing & Delivering on Expectations Every Time', proved popular—over 100 attended and grilled the boys with questions. Some felt compelled to blog their hands off about us.

OOPS
Turns out that the pronunciation of Drupal isn't quite what our last newsletter purported. After a series of remedial Dutch lessons, we stand corrected: Drupal is more "droo-puhl" than "drew-pal". Sorry. As punishment, we're making our writer eat his fries with mayonnaise for an entire year.
