Beer Canada is the national voice of beer, and they needed a site that could be heard.
The Brewers Association of Canada (now Beer Canada) has been the national voice of beer for over 70 years and their website looked like it had been around just as long! In 2013 the BAC came to Acro Media for a much needed facelift. They wanted to start fresh with a whole new look including logo and brand assets, and a website that reflected the Canadian beer industry.
When Beer Canada came to Acro Media with the need for a new website the answer came right away: Drupal. As our preferred CMS we know that Drupal allows for full customization and flexible functionality and while it is a great platform for large scale development projects it can also be a wonderfully simple solution. The new Beer Canada website is a perfect example of how Drupal can be effective and creative without the need for any bells and whistles.
Before doing too much design for the website we started with the logo, the face of the brand. Crowdsourcing can be an overwhelming experience for a company, a large number of logo concepts are created and while it sounds fun it can be tough to narrow your focus. Acro Media managed a crowdsource campaign on behalf of the Brewers Association, we narrowed the search and presented them with the top designs. Once the logo was chosen Acro Media developed a Logo Style Guide and a Corporate Materials Package including business card, letterhead, powerpoint, and envelope templates.
Along with their main website Beer Canada also operates a brewstats site and a wiki for their members. Acro Media re-skinned both sites with the new logo and branding style for a complete cohesive look among all three entities.
Beer Canada represents 26 Canadian brewing companies that account for 90% of beer made in Canada. Acro Media helped them gain a sense of identity that better reflects their association and the industry.
